Is minocin a good treatment for acne and blackheads ?

Just wanting some opinions from people that have tried this prescription product ? And what are the standard dosage reccomendationsIs minocin a good treatment for acne and blackheads ?
Standard dosage depends on your acne severity.

I'm on 100mg 2xday for a month, then 1xday for 2 months. I've used it before, with excellent results (cystic acne), and very little side effects. (Only ones to note are possible diarrhea..yay)

You can counter the side effects (like noted above) with acidophilus, or yogurt with that in it. Just don't take any dairy around the same time as the minocin, and if you're going to be out in the sun, wear sunscreen. Is minocin a good treatment for acne and blackheads ?
Minocin is the antibiotic after tetracyclin and then if that don't work you might try Accutane. But careful with that stuff 'cause it's nuts on the liver and you need blood tests. Also, as if the acne don't depress you too much already the drug will; if you get to feeling bad be sure to tell your doc NOT to put you on antidepressants - last thing you need is a cocktail like that.
I was put on Oxytetracycline which worked wonders on me. All the dosages should be on the information leaflet that comes with the prescription, but take what the doctor tells you to. If you become depressed on the drug, get them to give you another one, there's no point trying to live with depression if it can be avoided.
