Have you ever heard of blackheads in a cat's ears?

I thought he had some sort of growth, the vet said it's blackheads, just leave them alone, but they look terrible. Anyone have any experience with this?Have you ever heard of blackheads in a cat's ears?
Hi Linda...cats can also get feline acne, however it's more commonly seen around the lips, chin and nose. It also can occur near the base of the tail (also known as stud tail).

Ear mites tend to leave black crusty waxy substances in the ear.

I have never heard of this. It sounds more like flea excrement or maybe mites since its in the ears. I just didnt think cats and dogs got blackheads the way humans do. But Im no vet.

this website often has some good info and will answer you questions.
